AI-powered Assistance For A Multi-Practice Law Firm: How Did We Help Automate The Legal Operations?
The invention of various legal AI Software/chatbots has disrupted almost every aspect of the global legal domain. It not only replaces physical labour but also paves for automated mental tasks requiring intellect and sentiments. AI is transforming many white-collar jobs and profoundly impacts law practice.
While attorneys are more likely to be aided than replaced by AI, it helps review contracts, conduct legal research, and find relevant documents during discovery processes. AI also predicts legal outcomes, drafts contracts, and recommends judicial decisions like sentencing or bail.
With such an innovative spectrum of AI in the legal industry, we also got an opportunity to offer a legal chatbot-integrated platform to our client, a multi-practice firm of attorneys. Let’s now check out what we offered them to simplify and automate their legal operations!

About The Project: Legal Chatbot Assistant & Document Analyser
We offered a legal chatbot integration as an assistant and a document analyser to a U.S.-based multi-practice law firm.
We integrated an AI chatbot that delivers efficient and updated legal assistance like drafting initial case filings & case file reviews for the advocates’ and clients’ case-payment initiations. Our team has also collaborated to build dashboards and reports on the case statuses, revenues against various categories and department-wise performances of the legal firm.
This platform also functions as a document analyser to offer attorneys key case details and summaries of the lengthy case files, precedents and relevant statutes for legal research. We enhanced the chatbot assistance capacity by integrating authorised legal databases to offer updated legal help to the end-users of the firm.
The business needs of this legal AI software/ chatbot project were:
- AI-based consultancy services to streamline the firm’s legal processes.
- Address accuracy in AI-based legal assistance.
- A conversational virtual assistant to answer law-related queries.
- Offer user-friendly extraction of key case takeaways and curating summaries of lengthy case PDFs.
- An AI-based drafting assistant for the initial case and notice filings.
- AI-based Case Management System, Client Payment and Finance Management System, and a Sharepoint of case and Client Documents
How did we implement AI in the legal AI Software/ Chatbot Project?
We adhered to the following approach while implementing AI in the legal project:
1. NLP-based Query Interpretation
We used Natural Language Processing techniques to interpret user queries with precision. NLP techniques helped us enhance the chatbot’s ability to analyse and retrieve case-related information.
2. Chatbot’s Conversational Flow
We designed a chatbot’s Conversational Flow for intuitive and user-friendly communication between the end user and the AI legal assistant.
3. Updated Legal Data Hubs
Our experts integrated the chatbot ecosystem with legitimate Legal Data Hubs to offer updated information and case-law references to be accessed by end-users like clients and attorneys.
4. Data Extraction via Advanced ML Algorithms
We leveraged advanced Machine-learning and deep-learning Algorithms to fetch data from the legal documents. These algorithms helped the chatbot assistant extract more accurate and reliable case responses.
5. Comprehensive Data Base For Legal Research
Our team focused on curating a Comprehensive Knowledge Base containing legal data, case precedents and relevant statutes for in-depth access to legal research.
6. Cognitive Tools For Document Analyser
We offered a Document Analyser that also summarised case files. The document analyser functioned based on Cognitive Services Tools and APIs to extract text from PDF files.
7. OCR To Convert Case PDFs
We used Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to convert the PDF text into machine-readable text. It also helped the end-users benefit from sentiment analysis for law cases and data extraction for legal research.
