From Manual Bridge to Full-Stack DeFi Platform on Bittensor
A cross-chain liquidity platform combining automated bridging, swapping, staking, and lending -built to replace a single manual-approval bridge with a scalable, trusted DeFi surface.

Client
An early-to-growth-stage Web3/DeFi product company building cross-chain liquidity infrastructure on Bittensor, with bridge, swap, stake, and lending capabilities for its community of TAO holders. Before this engagement, the platform supported only a single, manually-approved bridging feature between Bittensor and Solana
Challenge
- A manual, trust-limiting bridge: every transfer required admin approval, creating operational bottlenecks and community trust risk.
- A single-feature product: the platform had no swap, stake, or lending capability, limiting growth against full-DeFi competitors.
- Deep protocol complexity: building real understanding of Bittensor subnet operations and Chainlink CCIP routing from the ground up.
- High-stakes automation: automating a previously manual bridge without breaking the trust the community had built with it.
Objectives
-
Replace manual, admin-approved bridging with an automated, verifiable process
-
Build a swap engine for wrapped and staked subnet tokens
-
Deliver liquid staking with APY accrual and flexible unstaking
-
Build a lending platform allowing staked tokens as collateral
-
Enable third-party developers to build on top of the platform via SDK
What We Built
Bridge Service: cryptographic event verification, on-chain proofs, and full audit history for every transfer.
CCIP Router: routes wrapped tokens across Ethereum, Base, and Solana via Chainlink DON, with dynamic fee optimisation.
Swap Engine: subnet-to-subnet and asset-type swaps for wrapped and staked tokens, with slippage protection.
Staking: liquid staking of wTAO to oTAO with APY accrual and DeFi composability.
Lending Platform: deposit staked tokens as collateral, borrow staked TAO, with auto-liquidation for critical positions.
SDK: lets third parties build new services on top of the existing infrastructure.
AI-assisted development: used on the platform's Lending build to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation.
Secure key and proof management: signer keys held in AWS KMS, with cryptographic proofs and full audit logs for every bridge transaction.
