Client

A US-based Independent Power Producer and energy trading company participating in US wholesale electricity markets — MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, CAISO, and ISONE — submitting virtual bids and offers (trades) on behalf of its traders.

Challenge

Manual, portal-by-portal trading: traders uploaded CSVs directly to five separate ISO portals, each with different authentication and API types.
No risk guardrails: traders could unknowingly breach risk limits before trades ever reached the market.
No approval workflow: Super Admins had no way to intercept and reject out-of-limit trades before submission.
Undiagnosable production failures (2026): no structured logging meant intermittent ERCOT API failures couldn't be reliably diagnosed.

Build configurable risk and position analysis ahead of every trade submission
Deliver role-based access control across traders, admins, and analysts
Add structured logging, automated test coverage, and controlled CI/CD (2026)

What We Built

A full trading portal: CSV upload, market-specific validation, risk analysis, admin approval, and submission to five ISO portals.
Role-based access control: Super Administrator, Administrator, Trader, Trader Bot, and Analyst personas.
Certificate management: secure storage and per-trader, per-market assignment of authentication certificates.
A Trader Bot API: secure, token-authenticated automated trade upload.
Centralised ERCOT/SOAP logging (2026): with credential masking, deployed to production.
A 10-phase automated test suite and CI/CD pipeline (2026): 85%+ coverage gates with controlled, authorised-user deployment promotion.
